Many people were quite puzzled when Barrack Obama did not choose Hillary Clinton as his Vice-Presidential candidate in the 2008 Presidential Election. For most people she was the one that Barrack Obama needed on his team to gain the victory that he needed. As we all know now, he chose to go another route. In the 2008 Presidential Election, Barrack Obama ended up choosing Joe Biden to be his running mate. There are a few key reasons why he made that decision.
1.Obviously winning the 2008 Presidential Election was not the only thing that was on his mind, he wanted to do what was the best combination for the people. Barrack Obama wanted to make a decision that was best for the people. Barrack Obama knew that in order to give the very best of himself that he has to offer, he had to pair up with the best running mate that would bring that out of him. He was ahead in the polls in the 2008 Presidential Election, when he announced who he would have as his Vice-Presidential candidate, so he did not want to jeopardize that. Barrack Obama was also very confident that the people would support the decision that he made.
2.One of the reasons why Barrack Obama did not choose Hillary Clinton as his running mate in the 2008 Presidential Election was because the focus of her 2008 Presidential Election campaign was somewhat different from his. Barrack Obama knew that they did have things in common in terms of their viewpoints on issues and how they would handle the, but the issue was that they were prioritized differently amongst the two candidates. Throughout the course of the 2008 Presidential Election campaigns that they both conducted, they chose to focus their main platform on slightly different issues. Also, there were variances in some of the approaches that they were going to take in order to handle the different issues.
3.One of the main reasons why Barrack Obama did not choose Hillary Clinton as his Vice-Presidential candidate in the 2008 Presidential Election was because of her competitor. Joe Biden has been participating in politics for many years and has such a strong background. He would also be able to gain some of Hillary Clinton supporters in the 2008 Presidential Election because of the strives that he had made in fighting for women’s issues. Joe Biden also has a very strong background in foreign relations. The war on terror became a very heavy debate as to who would win the election. People wanted to secure their votes with the candidate that they felt most confident about in their approach to the war.
