There was a tag team of Republican candidates that caused quite a stir in the 2008 Presidential Election. The Republican Presidential nominee for the 2008 Presidential Election was Senator John Sidney McCain III. The Republican Vice-Presidential nominee for the 2008 Presidential Election was Governor Sarah Louise Palin. John McCain followed his father’s legacy and was the fourth generation to enlist in the United States Navy. John McCain graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958. Before the 2008 Presidential Election, John McCain was known mostly for his work in the U.S. Senate that started in 1986, after serving in the House of Representatives since 1982. John McCain had previously run for Presidential Election in 2000. He is said to have dropped in ranking from that election after a heated debate with George W. Bush. Now, with that rich history, some people were quite puzzled when John McCain chose to elect Sarah Palin as his Vice-Presidential candidate. There are a few reasons that, to some people, this was the obvious choice.

1.Many people feel that John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his Vice-Presidential candidate in the 2008 Presidential Election because she was a female. Many people believe that John McCain knew how important it was to present a new campaign of change in the 2008 Presidential Election, so they felt that his choice to select Sarah Palin, a governor from Alaska, and former beauty pageant queen was the appropriate choice. John McCain wanted to show that his campaign was presenting a change to all minority groups. Women were not to be frowned upon, and they had the capability to make a difference, as well.

2.Another reason why people believe that John McCain chose Sarah Palin as the Vice-Presidential candidate in the 2008 Presidential Election is because she is viewed as a great speaker. Sarah Palin is known for giving powerful messages. She will definitely keep your attention. Whether you agree with what she says or not, she is quite compelling to listen to. That is what the Republican party needed in the 2008 Presidential Election in order to stand up against the great motivational speaker and Democratic Presidential Candidate Barrack H. Obama.

3.It is believed that John McCain chose Sarah Palin in the 2008 Presidential Election because of the pride that she shows in the United States of America. One of the platforms that John McCain endorsed in the 2008 Presidential Election was the notion of American pride. One of the things that John McCain was counting on this to give him the upper hand to steal the hearts of Americans in order to gain their support and their votes.
